Wesley Corder, P.E.
President and Chief
Wes Corder has over 15 years of experience in engineering and management of civil construction projects. Mr. Corder has overseen the company’s expansion and impressive growth throughout the Carolinas and the Southeast and the push into Industrial markets.
Wes has proven expertise in successful value engineering on large scale civil construction projects and delivering project on time and under budget.
Mr. Corder graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and holds a Professional Engineers license in North Carolina.
In 2012, he became a shareholder and the Vice President of the company now known as Thomson, Corder & Co.
Robert E. Thomson Jr., P.E.
Vice President
Robert Thomson has over 40 years experience in engineering and construction of civil projects. Robert graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering in 1969 and was commissioned in the United States Army Corps of Engineers. He served at the Construction Branch of the Wilmington District, eventually becoming its chief until 1989. Mr. Thomson left the Corps to become a partner and operations manager of M & A Construction, Inc., a civil construction firm in Wilmington.
Under his leadership, the company has grown to be a leader in civil construction work in the Wilmington, NC area performing a multitude of Civil projects across the commercial, transportation and heavy industrial markets. Mr. Thomson is a licensed PE and holds contractors licenses in numerous states.
